Sheri Bortz, MD has retired from medicine after 40 years doing primary care and urgent care. She is still teaching yoga at the Saratoga Prospect Center and possibly will start a class at the Cupertino Senior Center in Spring of 2020. See "Class Information" for current schedule.
After years of exploring modalities of non-Western medicine, Dr. Sheri Bortz found her niche in the teaching of yoga. Her classes are based on the principles of Iyengar and Viniyoga which she has studied for 20 years. Students appreciate the personal attention, humor, and precise instructions in the classes. The beginning classes on Tuesday evening and Friday morning are suitable for those new to yoga, those with physical challenges, as well as students continuing at a beginner level. If you have done yoga for a while and want more challenge, join the more advanced class on Thursday evening.
We are serious about our yoga, but laugh a lot, (sometimes complain a lot!), and generally have a good time as we get stronger, develop body awareness, and experience the peace of mind that yoga brings.
